Dr. Alayo Sopekan
Assistant Director & National Desk Officer for Sickle Cell Disease, Federal Ministry of Health Nigeria
Dr Alayo Sopekan is a Clinician, Public Health Specialist and an Administrator.
He attended Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto and bagged MBBS and MPH. He has had several other certifications both within and outside Nigeria including the Extra Valued Certified Professional (ECP) certificate.
He has more than twenty years of continuous working experience as a Physician, Public Health Specialist, Programme Manager, Quality Assurance and Healthcare Financing expert in both Public and Private sector of healthcare delivery.
He is currently concluding a Ph.D Research in Sickle Cell Disease interventions in Texila American University, Guyana. He is presently an Assistant Director and the National Desk Officer/Focal Person for Sickle Cell Disease in the Federal Ministry of Health.
