Last October, Key stakeholders from across Africa and beyond convened on one international stage as a collective to discuss the burden of sickle cell disease, its impact on African communities and shared evidence-based solutions and recommendations to its effect.
The first Africa Congress on Sickle Cell Disease (ACSCD 2019), organized by Dr. SickleCell - Center for Sickle cell disease took place on October 31 - Novermber 2, 2019 in Lagos, Nigeria featuring 3 days of plenary sessions, industry presentations and exhibition mixed with Special sessions and dedicated symposium.
The Congress was held under the high patronage of former president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, with the support of the Federal Ministry of Health Nigeria and World Health Organization (Afro Region).
